Homework Calendar

March 2018

Homework has been updated and is sent out for the whole month instead of weekly. We hope it's fun and more engaging for your kiddo, and we'd love to hear your feedback to inform us of what you like and what we can improve upon.

We ask that you make sure your child writes his/her name at the top, checkmark what activities were completed, and then you sign acknowledging that your child did these tasks.

Here is the homework calendar for the homework week of September 21-28. Please make sure that your child PUTS THEIR NAME ON THEIR CALENDAR. Thank you!!

Homework went out for the first time last Thursday, September 14th. Here are some reminders...

1. Homework goes home with students every Thursday in their orange folder and is to be returned the following Thursday in their same orange folder.

2. Math review sheet: Please start with the THURSDAY column the day homework goes home. Over the weekend feel free to go ahead if you know you and your family have a busy week coming up. Otherwise, students only do the Math review sheet on the nights listed at the top. The empty boxes on the back for students to show their work, if needed.
3. iReady: Students are asked to do 3 Math and 3 Literacy lessons a week. The lessons can be done whenever works for you and your family. The lesson times vary, but each lesson is around 5 minutes each. The reason why we have students do iReady lessons at home is to help them be more confident with the iReady system. This is the website that they take Math and Reading assessments on throughout the year. We have found that the more familiar students are with using the website, the more they can concentrate on the tasks at hand. Here is the link clever.com/in/dpsk12
Students have their login information stapled into their orange Thursday folders.
4. Reading for 20 minutes each night can be your child reading to you, you reading to your child or a combination of both. It can be kiddos reading to themselves or you reading with them at bedtime.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions!!
